Backpack in the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness -- the least-known part of the Whites
Hiking/Backpacking Date: Fri July 12, 2019 - Sun July 14, 2019Join us on a two-night backpacking trip exploring the least-known part of the White Mountains - the Caribou-Speckled Mountain Wilderness. Located just over the border from New Hampshire, it is Maine's largest wilderness area. We will hike up to 8 miles per day, with about 4000 feet of elevation gain over the three days, setting a moderate pace. We hope to enjoy the views from the summit of Speckled Mountain (approx. 3000 ft) as well as mountain streams and glades.
