We'll hike about 5 miles exploring this wonderful forest that is tucked away in northwest Plaistow. The Plaistow Town Forest is adjacent to conservation land in Hampstead NH, which extends the hiking opportunities. Many large white pines populate this woodland, and the forest wraps around a heronry that provides a sharp contrast to the forest that surrounds it. Kelly Brook, which winds through the forest, is a clear and cool stream lined with hemlock trees. The Plaistow Town Forest is just over the border from Massachusetts border, and should be well worth the trip. If the weather forecast holds, look for a sunny and milder summer day to hike. From Rte. 495 North, take Exit 51B toward Plaistow NH. Follow Rte. 125 north for 3.5 miles, then take a left onto Rte. 121A. Follow Rte. 121A for about 2 miles where Plaistow Town Forest parking area will be on the left.
